Overview
Angry Jelly is the tenth and final Hero Pet unlocked at Pet House Level 10 (Town Hall 16), introducing the unique Brainwash mechanic that forces paired heroes to target defenses exclusively for 30 seconds after deployment. During Brainwash, the hero behaves identically to Royal Champion—ignoring all non-defensive buildings (storages, collectors, barracks, Town Hall) and prioritizing only defensive structures like Cannons, Archer Towers, Inferno Towers, Scattershots, and Eagle Artillery. Angry Jelly becomes invulnerable during this period, floating above the hero and firing lasers at defenses while untargetable by all defenses and traps. With 2,100 HP and 110 DPS at max level, Angry Jelly transforms any hero into a defense-deletion specialist.
Angry Jelly revolutionized Minion Prince and Grand Warden strategies by ensuring they target defenses instead of random buildings during critical attack phases—eliminating the frustration of heroes wasting time on storages and collectors. Minion Prince + Angry Jelly guarantees Prince eliminates Air Defenses, Inferno Towers, and Scattershots quickly, clearing the way for air armies to dominate. The 30-second Brainwash duration is long enough to clear 4-6 defenses, significantly weakening base defensive capability before main army deployment. However, Brainwash offers ZERO benefit to Royal Champion (already targets defenses naturally) and creates funneling issues since heroes ignore Town Hall and non-defensive buildings during Brainwash—requiring cleanup troops to handle non-defensive structures. Angry Jelly pairs best with Minion Prince (air hero benefits from forced defense-targeting) and Grand Warden (prevents random targeting during Warden Walks), but is completely useless with Royal Champion.

⚔️ MAX — 30s Brainwash · Invulnerable |
Key Attributes: Angry Jelly has movement speed 20, attack speed 1.2 seconds, attack range 4.5 tiles, and is an air unit. Special Ability – Brainwash: Forces hero to target ONLY defenses for 30 seconds (ignores all non-defensive buildings). Hero behaves like Royal Champion during Brainwash. Invulnerability: Angry Jelly becomes untargetable by defenses/traps while Brainwashing hero. Attack Type: Ranged laser attacks (air unit).
⚔️ Best Hero Pairings
Minion Prince (Best Pairing)
Angry Jelly + Minion Prince = guaranteed defense elimination for air army success. Prince naturally targets random buildings (storages, barracks)—Brainwash forces him to prioritize Air Defenses, Inferno Towers, and Scattershots exclusively for 30 seconds. This creates perfect air army support: deploy Prince + Jelly to clear 4-6 key defenses, then launch main air army (Electro Dragons, Lava Hounds) into weakened base. Absolute best pairing for Minion Prince at TH16-17.
Grand Warden (Strong Pairing)
Excellent for Warden Walk strategies in ground mode. Warden naturally targets nearest buildings regardless of type—Brainwash forces defense-only targeting for 30 seconds, ensuring Warden eliminates Wizard Towers, Mortars, and Cannons instead of wasting time on Gold Mines and Elixir Collectors. Particularly effective with Fireball equipment: Brainwashed Warden targets defenses, Fireball destroys them rapidly. Eliminates Warden Walk frustration of poor targeting.
Barbarian King (Moderate Pairing)
Situational pairing for specific strategies. Brainwashed King behaves like Giant or Golem (defense-only targeting), making him excellent for Root Rider armies where both King and Root Riders target defenses simultaneously. Also viable for Hero Sui attacks where King dives specifically to eliminate defenses. However, King benefits more from survivability pets like
Phoenix or
Frosty for general attacks.
Royal Champion (USELESS Pairing)
Do NOT pair Angry Jelly with Royal Champion—completely wasted pet slot. Royal Champion ALREADY targets defenses exclusively by default. Brainwash provides ZERO benefit since RC’s natural targeting is identical to Brainwashed targeting. Use
Diggy (stun) or
Spirit Fox (invisibility) with RC instead—these pets actually enhance RC’s capabilities rather than duplicating her existing behavior.
🎯 Strategic Tips
30-Second Brainwash Duration
Brainwash lasts 30 seconds from hero deployment—long enough to destroy 4-6 defenses depending on hero DPS and defense HP. Minion Prince (656 DPS at max) destroys an Air Defense (1,650 HP) in 2.5 seconds, allowing 10+ defense eliminations during full 30-second window. Plan deployments to maximize Brainwash value: deploy hero near defense-rich compartments to avoid wasting Brainwash time traveling.
Invulnerability Window
Critical mechanic: Angry Jelly is COMPLETELY invulnerable while Brainwashing hero—cannot be targeted or damaged by any defenses, traps, or troops. This 30-second invulnerability makes Jelly extremely safe. After Brainwash ends (30 seconds expire or hero dies), Jelly becomes vulnerable again. Use this window to position Jelly aggressively—float directly above heroes without fear of Air Defense fire during Brainwash.
Root Rider Synergy
Pair Brainwashed Barbarian King with Root Rider armies for double defense-targeting. Both King and Root Riders prioritize defenses exclusively, creating coordinated defense elimination. Deploy Brainwashed King to tank while Root Riders deal splash DPS behind him—both targeting same defenses ensures rapid destruction. Dominant strategy at TH16 for Root Rider + King compositions.
Funneling Still Required
Major limitation: Brainwashed heroes ignore ALL non-defensive buildings including Town Hall, storages, and barracks. This creates massive funneling issues—hero walks past Town Hall to target distant Cannon, leaving TH standing. Deploy cleanup troops (Wizards, Valkyries) to destroy non-defensive buildings since Brainwashed hero won’t touch them. Without cleanup, bases end at 70-80% with TH and storages intact.
Air Unit Advantages
Angry Jelly is air unit, making it immune to ground-based traps and defenses. Spring Traps, Skeleton Traps, and ground-targeting Cannons cannot affect Jelly. Only Air Defenses and multi-target defenses threaten Jelly—but invulnerability during Brainwash negates this threat for 30 seconds. Position Jelly aggressively above heroes without concern for ground defense fire.
🛡️ Countering Angry Jelly
Clan Castle Troops Distraction
Deploy Clan Castle troops to distract Brainwashed heroes. When CC troops attack hero, hero automatically counterattacks CC troops (breaking Brainwash focus temporarily). Use high-HP CC troops (Ice Golems, Super Wizards) to force hero to engage them instead of defenses, wasting precious Brainwash time. Well-timed CC activation can waste 10-15 seconds of the 30-second Brainwash window.
Wall Compartments
Design bases with heavy compartmentalization—multiple wall layers separating defenses. Brainwashed heroes still get stuck on walls without wall-breaking support (Brainwash doesn’t grant wall-passing). Heroes waste Brainwash time breaking through walls or pathing around them, reducing actual defense destruction time. Without Wall Breakers or Jump Spells, Brainwashed King/Warden struggles to reach interior defenses.
Spread Defense Positioning
Position defenses 6+ tiles apart across base rather than clustered. Spread layout maximizes travel time between defenses—Brainwashed hero spends 40-50% of 30-second window walking between defenses rather than destroying them. Tight defense clusters allow rapid sequential destruction; spread defenses force time-wasting movement, limiting total defenses destroyed during Brainwash.
Skeleton Traps Near Defenses
Deploy Skeleton Traps adjacent to high-value defenses (Inferno Towers, Eagle Artillery). When Brainwashed hero approaches defense, Skeleton Trap triggers—skeletons distract hero, forcing hero to eliminate skeletons before resuming defense targeting. Each Skeleton Trap wastes 3-5 seconds of Brainwash time, reducing overall defense destruction count during 30-second window.
