Overview

Baby Dragon is the sixth Builder Base troop, unlocked at Builder Barracks Level 6. This flying mini-dragon features dual abilities: Tantrum (passive damage doubler) and Fiery Sneeze (one-time cone blast). With 1,200 HP and 100-200 DPS at max level (Level 20), Baby Dragons excel at high-damage air strikes when separated from other air units. Tantrum activates when NO other air units within 4.5 tiles—doubles damage from 100 to 200 DPS and increases attack speed. Fiery Sneeze launches cone-shaped fire attack dealing massive splash damage, especially devastating when Tantrum active. Cute appearance belies deadly firepower against ground targets.

Baby Dragons revolutionized Builder Base air attacks by providing solo-deployment power. Deploy Baby Dragons individually spread 5+ tiles apart—each activates Tantrum dealing 200 DPS (2x normal) with faster attack speed. Against clustered buildings, Tantrum Baby Dragon destroys 3-4 buildings before moving. Housing cost of 10 per camp slot allows 2-4 in army. Best used spread deployment rather than massed—massing deactivates Tantrum (air units too close). Pair with ground troops for hybrid pressure or deploy solo for maximum Tantrum value. Fiery Sneeze activation when approaching high-value targets (Firecrackers, Roasters) destroys them instantly if Tantrum active. Vulnerable to Air Bombs and Firecrackers in concentrated fire.

📊 Stats & Capabilities

Builder Hall Level HP DPS (Normal/Tantrum)
BH6 12 700 60 / 120
BH8 16 970 82 / 164
BH10 20 1,200 ⚔️ MAX — 100 / 200

Key Attributes: Housing 10 per camp slot, movement speed 16, range 3 tiles, splash damage 1.5-tile radius. Passive Ability – Tantrum (Level 2+): Activates when no air units within 4.5 tiles. Doubles damage (100→200) and increases attack speed. Movement speed unchanged. Deactivates if air units get close. Active Ability – Fiery Sneeze (One-time): Cone-shaped fire blast in front, large area damage, bonus if Tantrum active. Target: Ground only (flying unit, cannot be hit by ground-targeting defenses).

⚔️ Best Attack Strategies

Spread Baby Dragon Solo Deployment
Deploy 3-4 Baby Dragons individually spread 5-7 tiles apart across base perimeter. Each Dragon maintains 4.5+ tile separation activating Tantrum (200 DPS). Deploy one Dragon per flank (north, east, south, west edges)—they destroy outer buildings independently. Tantrum Dragons clear 8-12 edge buildings total in 15-20 seconds before dying to Firecrackers. This creates perfect funnel for ground troops (Giants, Cannon Carts) who then path directly to Builder Hall. Keep Dragons in reserve—deploy replacement when first dies to maintain Tantrum uptime. Never deploy all 4 simultaneously or close together (deactivates Tantrum). Spread deployment = 4 Dragons at 200 DPS each = 800 total vs massed deployment = 4 Dragons at 100 DPS = 400 total.
Baby Dragon + Beta Minion Tank
Use 2 Baby Dragons + 6-8 Beta Minions for Tantrum-protected air assault. Baby Dragons tank anti-air fire (1,200 HP each) while Minions deal DPS from behind. Deploy first Baby Dragon targeting Firecracker—activates Tantrum (200 DPS), uses Fiery Sneeze to one-shot Firecracker. Deploy second Baby Dragon opposite side also in Tantrum. Once Firecrackers eliminated, deploy all Beta Minions—they attack safely without major anti-air threat. Baby Dragons continue tanking Air Bomb and Roaster fire while Minions destroy 50-60% of base. Trade-off: Minions within 4.5 tiles of Dragons deactivates Tantrum, but Dragons’ tanking value exceeds Tantrum loss. BH6-BH9 air superiority strategy.
Fiery Sneeze Firecracker Elimination
Deploy single Baby Dragon targeting Firecracker during Tantrum state. As Dragon approaches Firecracker (within 5-6 tiles), manually activate Fiery Sneeze ability. Tantrum-boosted Fiery Sneeze deals 600-800 damage in cone (vs 300-400 without Tantrum). Firecracker (800-1,100 HP) destroyed instantly along with adjacent buildings in cone. This surgical strike removes anti-air defense allowing safe deployment of air army. Deploy second Baby Dragon targeting second Firecracker repeating Fiery Sneeze elimination. After both Firecrackers destroyed, deploy mass Beta Minions or remaining Baby Dragons without anti-air threat. Two Fiery Sneezes = two eliminated Firecrackers = air attack pathway opened.
Ground-Air Hybrid Pressure
Combine 2 Boxer Giants + 2 Baby Dragons + 6 Raged Barbarians for dual-vector attack. Deploy Giants targeting ground defenses (Crushers, Multi Mortars). Deploy Baby Dragons spread 6+ tiles apart targeting air defenses (Firecrackers) while in Tantrum. Deploy Barbarians between Giants and Dragons creating triple-threat pressure. Ground defenses engage Giants/Barbarians, air defenses engage Dragons—no defense can efficiently cover both vectors. Baby Dragons’ Tantrum + Fiery Sneeze destroys Firecrackers rapidly, Barbarians’ Rage overwhelms ground defenses, Giants tank sustained fire. Combined vectors destroy 70-80% of base. BH6-BH8 versatile strategy.

🎯 Strategic Tips

4.5-Tile Separation Requirement
Tantrum requires 4.5+ tile separation from ALL air units (Baby Dragons, Beta Minions, Drop Ships, any flyers). Deploy Baby Dragons at minimum 5-tile spacing to guarantee Tantrum activation. Visual guide: base width ~40 tiles, deploy 4 Baby Dragons at 10-tile intervals (north edge, east edge, south edge, west edge). Each Dragon maintains 10-tile separation = guaranteed Tantrum. Air Sweepers can push Dragons together deactivating Tantrum—watch for push effects. If two Dragons forced within 4.5 tiles by Air Sweeper, both lose Tantrum (400 DPS lost). Counter: Deploy Dragons outside Air Sweeper range initially, let them path into pushed zones after establishing separation.
Tantrum Damage Doubling (100→200 DPS)
Base Baby Dragon DPS: 100. Tantrum active: 200 DPS (2x multiplier). Against common buildings: Army Camp (1,200 HP) destroyed in 6s with Tantrum (12s without), Gold Mine (1,000 HP) in 5s (10s without), Firecracker (1,100 HP) in 5.5s (11s without). Tantrum also increases attack speed—fires breath more frequently (every 0.8s vs normal 1.0s). Combined 2x damage + faster attacks = approximately 2.5x total DPS increase. Single Tantrum Baby Dragon equivalent to 2.5 normal Baby Dragons in terms of damage output. Four Tantrum Dragons = 10 normal Dragons worth of damage but only 40 housing vs 100.
Fiery Sneeze One-Time Activation
Fiery Sneeze usable only ONCE per battle per Dragon. Optimal timing: activate when Dragon positioned to hit multiple high-value targets in cone. Cone angle: approximately 60 degrees, range 5 tiles forward. Position Dragon so Firecracker + 2-3 adjacent buildings align in cone = Fiery Sneeze damages all simultaneously. If Tantrum active during Fiery Sneeze, damage boosted 2x (600-800 total vs 300-400 without Tantrum). Never waste Fiery Sneeze on single low-HP building. Save for clustered defenses or critical Firecracker elimination. If Dragon dies before using Fiery Sneeze, ability automatically activates on death (no waste).
Vulnerable to Concentrated Anti-Air
Baby Dragon HP: 1,200 (max). Firecracker DPS: 300. Air Bomb damage: 600-800. Against single Firecracker, Baby Dragon survives 4 seconds (1,200 HP ÷ 300 DPS = 4s). Against Firecracker + Air Bomb (300 DPS + 800 burst), Dragon dies in 1.3 seconds (1,200 HP ÷ (300+800) = 1.09s then Air Bomb). Position Baby Dragons to engage defenses separately—attack Firecracker from angle where Air Bomb not triggered. Spread deployment also means if one Dragon encounters lethal anti-air (Firecracker + Air Bomb), other Dragons remain safe attacking different zones. Concentrated anti-air kills one Dragon, spread Dragons still destroy 60-70% of base.
Reserve Dragon Deployment
Don’t deploy all Baby Dragons at start. Deploy 1-2 Dragons initially maintaining Tantrum separation. After first Dragon dies (typically 15-20 seconds into attack), deploy replacement Dragon. This “reserve deployment” maintains continuous Tantrum pressure throughout 2-minute attack. Four Dragons deployed simultaneously = all die within 20-30 seconds = no air presence remaining 90 seconds. Four Dragons deployed sequentially (1 every 20s) = continuous air pressure entire 2 minutes. Reserve Dragons also benefit from intel—first Dragons reveal trap positions (Air Bombs), reserve Dragons avoid those zones. Sequential deployment > simultaneous deployment for sustained offensive pressure.

🛡️ Countering Baby Dragons

Firecracker Rapid-Fire Coverage
Firecrackers (300 DPS rapid-fire) hard-counter Baby Dragons. Position 2-3 Firecrackers with overlapping coverage spanning 80-90% of base airspace. Baby Dragon (1,200 HP) dies in 4 seconds to single Firecracker (1,200 ÷ 300 = 4s). With two Firecrackers covering same zone, Baby Dragon dies in 2 seconds (600 combined DPS). Place Firecrackers centrally—not at edges where Dragons can snipe them with Tantrum before taking damage. Protect Firecrackers with Air Bombs—when Dragon approaches Firecracker, Air Bomb triggers dealing 800 burst while Firecracker fires (300 DPS) = combined 1,100 damage in 1 second = instant Dragon death.
Air Bomb at Firecracker Locations
Place Air Bombs (600-800 damage) adjacent to Firecrackers. When Baby Dragon targets Firecracker using Tantrum (200 DPS) or Fiery Sneeze, it paths toward Firecracker triggering Air Bomb. Air Bomb 800 damage reduces Dragon from 1,200 HP to 400 HP instantly. Weakened Dragon then faces Firecracker fire (300 DPS) dying in additional 1.3 seconds. Combined Air Bomb + Firecracker = Baby Dragon dies in 2 seconds vs 4 seconds without bomb. Position multiple Air Bombs at different Firecracker positions—whichever Firecracker Dragon targets, Air Bomb triggers. Two Air Bombs + two Firecrackers = complete anti-Baby Dragon coverage eliminating all Dragons before significant damage dealt.
Air Sweeper Clustering
Air Sweepers push Baby Dragons backward 6 tiles when they enter range. Strategic placement: Position Air Sweeper between two Firecracker coverage zones. When Baby Dragon attacks Firecracker A, Air Sweeper pushes Dragon backward into Firecracker B’s range. Dragon now takes fire from both Firecrackers simultaneously (600 combined DPS) while being unable to approach either. Additionally, if Dragon deployed spread for Tantrum, Air Sweeper pushes multiple Dragons together into same 4.5-tile radius—this deactivates ALL their Tantrums simultaneously. Three separate Tantrum Dragons (600 DPS total) pushed together = three non-Tantrum Dragons (300 DPS total) = 50% damage reduction via single Air Sweeper push.
Roaster Continuous Beam Damage
Roaster (300-350 continuous DPS) engages Baby Dragons for sustained damage. Unlike Firecracker (bursts), Roaster maintains constant beam on Dragon throughout its approach. Baby Dragon (1,200 HP) dies in 3.4-4 seconds under Roaster beam (1,200 ÷ 350 = 3.43s). Position Roaster centrally covering multiple approach vectors—Dragons cannot avoid beam regardless of deployment spread. Roaster especially effective vs Tantrum Dragons who path aggressively deep into base (thinking they can tank with 200 DPS). Roaster beam tracks Dragon’s entire path dealing cumulative 1,200+ damage over 3-4 seconds. Pair Roaster with Air Bombs for burst + sustained damage combination—Air Bomb weakens (800 damage), Roaster finishes (remaining 400 HP in 1.2s).
