Overview

Cannon Cart is the seventh Builder Base troop, unlocked at Builder Barracks Level 7. This wheeled cannon features unique Mode Switch ability—toggle between Cart mode (mobile, 5.5-tile range, 96 DPS) and Mortar mode (stationary, 9-tile range, 64 DPS). With 520 HP at max level (Level 20), Cannon Carts excel as flexible ranged attackers adapting to tactical needs. Cart mode provides mobile high-DPS assault, Mortar mode offers longest range in Builder Base for safe sniping. When destroyed, enters Last Stand—becomes immobile cannon continuing to fire until destroyed again, providing final damage output.

Cannon Carts revolutionized Builder Base tactics by providing mode-switching flexibility. Deploy 8-10 Cannon Carts in Cart mode (5.5-tile range, 96 DPS)—they advance destroying buildings rapidly while mobile. When encountering heavy defenses (Crusher, Roaster), manually switch to Mortar mode (9-tile range, 64 DPS)—Carts become stationary but outrange most defenses (6-tile range), sniping safely from distance. Housing cost of only 3 per slot allows 10-13 in full army. After Carts destroyed, Last Stand activates—they continue firing as stationary cannons dealing additional 500-1,000 damage before final destruction. Pair with Bombers for wall-breaching creating clean paths for Cart advancement.

⚔️ Best Attack Strategies

Mass Cannon Cart Cart Mode Rush
Deploy 10-13 Cannon Carts in Cart mode (96 DPS, 5.5-tile range) for mobile artillery assault. Cart mode provides higher DPS than Mortar (96 vs 64 = 50% more damage) compensating for shorter range. Deploy Carts in line formation—they advance together destroying buildings. Against outer buildings (Army Camps, Collectors, Barracks), Cart mode’s 96 DPS destroys in 8-12 seconds vs Mortar’s 15-20 seconds. After destroying 40-50% of base in Cart mode, switch ALL Carts to Mortar mode simultaneously for final push from safety. Mass Cart strategy = 960-1,248 combined DPS overwhelming bases through sustained ranged fire. BH5-BH8 dominant strategy.
Bomber + Cannon Cart Wall Breach
Combine 4-6 Bombers + 8-10 Cannon Carts for compartment penetration. Deploy Bombers first destroying 2-3 wall layers (15x wall damage). Once walls breached, deploy Cannon Carts in Cart mode through opened gaps. Carts advance to inner compartments at speed 16, engage defenses from 5.5-tile range. When Carts reach core defenses (Crusher, Multi Mortar, Roaster), switch to Mortar mode—9-tile range allows sniping core defenses from safety outside their 6-tile range. Bombers create paths, Carts provide sustained DPS from opened corridors. After Carts destroyed, Last Stand continues fire for 8-10 seconds dealing additional 500-800 damage per Cart. BH6-BH9 wall-heavy base counter.
Mortar Mode Crusher Sniping
Deploy 6-8 Cannon Carts in Mortar mode (9-tile range) specifically targeting Crushers from safety. Crusher range: 4 tiles. Mortar Cart range: 9 tiles. Position Carts 8-9 tiles from Crusher—they attack unopposed while Crusher cannot retaliate (out of 4-tile range). Crusher (1,800-2,400 HP) destroyed by 3 Mortar Carts in 12-15 seconds (3 × 64 DPS = 192 combined). After Crusher eliminated, switch Carts to Cart mode for faster building destruction (96 DPS). Mortar sniping eliminates Builder Base’s most dangerous ground defense without casualties. Deploy Boxer Giants after Crusher destroyed—Giants survive without 600-800 slam damage threat.
Last Stand Positioning Strategy
Deploy Cannon Carts in Cart mode targeting key defenses (Multi Mortar, Roaster, Giant Cannon). When Carts reach 100-200 HP (near death), manually switch to Mortar mode and position them at maximum 9-tile range from targets. When Carts destroyed, Last Stand activates—they remain as stationary cannons at their death positions. Because positioned at 9-tile range before death, Last Stand cannons maintain safe distance from defenses, continuing fire without taking damage. Each Last Stand Cart provides 5-10 additional seconds of fire (320-640 bonus damage per Cart at 64 DPS). Ten Carts = 3,200-6,400 bonus damage from Last Stand phase alone. Proper positioning converts deaths into tactical advantages.

🎯 Strategic Tips

Mode Switching Trade-offs
**Cart Mode:** Mobile (speed 16), short range (5.5 tiles), high DPS (96). Use for: advancing through base, destroying outer buildings quickly, engaging targets 3-5 tiles away. **Mortar Mode:** Stationary (speed 0), long range (9 tiles), low DPS (64). Use for: sniping defenses from safety, outranging Crushers/Giant Cannons, final percentage push. Switch Cart→Mortar when: encountering heavy defenses, need extra range, protecting Carts from focus fire. Switch Mortar→Cart when: defenses destroyed, need to advance, require higher DPS. Can toggle unlimited times—no cooldown or penalty. Master switching = maximize Cart flexibility.
9-Tile Range Advantage (Longest in Builder Base)
Mortar mode 9-tile range = longest of ANY Builder Base troop (Beta Minion Power Shot: 7 tiles, Sneaky Archer: 5 tiles). Most defenses: 6-tile range (Cannons, Archer Towers, Double Cannons). Cannon Carts in Mortar mode outrange by 3 tiles = attack unopposed from safety. Deploy 8 Mortar Carts at 9-tile range targeting defense—defense cannot retaliate. Eight Carts (512 combined DPS at 64 each) destroy Crusher (2,400 HP) in 4.7 seconds without taking any damage. After defense destroyed, switch to Cart mode for faster advance. 9-tile range = Cannon Carts control engagement distances, never forced into lethal combat.
Last Stand Additional Damage
When Cannon Cart HP depletes to 0, enters Last Stand—becomes immobile cannon continuing to fire. Last Stand duration: 5-10 seconds before final destruction (varies by incoming damage). During Last Stand: Cart continues firing at previous DPS (96 if died in Cart mode, 64 if died in Mortar mode). Bonus damage: 480-960 per Cart in Cart mode (96 DPS × 5-10s), 320-640 in Mortar mode (64 DPS × 5-10s). Ten Carts in Last Stand = 4,800-9,600 bonus damage total. Last Stand Carts still targetable by defenses—position them at maximum range before death to extend Last Stand duration (less incoming damage = longer survival).
Low HP = Vulnerability Management
Cannon Cart HP: 520 (max). Crusher damage: 600-800 per slam = one-shots Cart. Multi Mortar: 150 × 4 shells = 600 damage volley = one-shots Cart. Roaster: 350 DPS kills Cart in 1.5 seconds. NEVER deploy Cannon Carts within Crusher slam range (4 tiles) without tank protection. Use Boxer Giants or Raged Barbarians to absorb Crusher slams while Carts fire from 5.5-9 tiles behind. Cannon Carts are glass cannons—high DPS but fragile. Protect with tanks or maintain maximum range in Mortar mode. Ten unprotected Carts die in 10-15 seconds to focused defense fire. Ten protected Carts survive 40-60 seconds dealing 3,840-5,760 damage.
3 Housing = Army Efficiency
Cannon Cart housing: 3 per camp slot. At 200 housing (typical Builder Base army), can field 13 Carts maximum (13 × 3 = 39 housing used). Compare to Beta Minions (4 housing = max 10), Baby Dragons (10 housing = max 4). Thirteen Carts in Cart mode = 1,248 combined DPS (13 × 96 = 1,248), highest DPS army possible in Builder Base. Thirteen Carts in Mortar mode = 832 combined DPS (13 × 64 = 832) from 9-tile safety. Low housing cost + high DPS + flexible range = extremely efficient troop. Cannon Cart-only armies viable BH5-BH10 for trophy pushing.

🛡️ Countering Cannon Carts

Crusher One-Shot Slam
Crusher (600-800 damage per slam) one-shots Cannon Carts (520 HP max). Position Crusher centrally where Cannon Carts inevitably path in Cart mode. When Carts advance at speed 16 toward defenses, they enter Crusher 4-tile range. Crusher slam hits 2-3 clustered Carts simultaneously (area damage) = 6-9 housing eliminated instantly. Against mass Cart strategies (10-13 Carts), single Crusher eliminates 4-6 Carts (12-18 housing) before being destroyed. Two Crushers with overlapping coverage = eliminate 8-10 Carts (24-30 housing) = half of Cart army destroyed. Without Crushers, Cannon Carts destroy base unopposed from 5.5-9 tile range.
Multi Mortar + Roaster Splash
Multi Mortar (150 × 4 shells = 600 damage) one-shots Cannon Carts if all 4 shells hit (520 HP). Roaster (350 continuous DPS) kills Cart in 1.5 seconds (520 ÷ 350 = 1.49s). Position both defenses with overlapping coverage on common Cart paths. When Carts deploy in Cart mode (must be within 5.5 tiles to attack), they enter Multi Mortar and Roaster range (6 tiles both). Combined fire: Multi Mortar volley (600 damage) + Roaster beam (525 damage over 1.5s) = 1,125 total = kills 2 Carts. Against 10 Carts, combined defenses kill 8-10 over 15-20 second engagement. Spread placement prevents Carts from safely sniping both defenses simultaneously from Mortar mode.
Giant Cannon Penetrating Shot
Giant Cannon fires penetrating cannonball dealing 400-500 damage that continues through multiple troops. Against clustered Cannon Carts (common deployment), Giant Cannon shot penetrates hitting 3-5 Carts in line dealing 400-500 damage each. First Cart takes 500 damage (weakened to 20 HP), second takes 500 (dies), third takes 500 (dies), continuing until cannonball exits map. Single Giant Cannon shot eliminates 2-3 Carts (6-9 housing) if lined up properly. Position Giant Cannon perpendicular to common Cart deployment angles—maximizes penetration through Cart formations. Two Giant Cannon shots = 4-6 Carts eliminated before they destroy significant defenses.
Spring Traps at Defense Zones
Spring Traps eject 15 housing. Cannon Carts cost 3 housing = Spring ejects 5 Carts simultaneously if clustered (15 ÷ 3 = 5). Position Springs in front of Crushers and key defenses where Carts path. When Carts advance in Cart mode targeting defenses, Spring triggers ejecting 4-5 Carts instantly—removing 12-15 housing (20-25% of typical Cart army). Place 2-3 Springs at different defense locations (Crusher, Multi Mortar, Giant Cannon) for multiple ejection opportunities. Springs especially effective vs Cart mode (Carts clustered advancing together). Less effective vs Mortar mode (Carts spread stationary). Force Carts into Cart mode by positioning defenses requiring close approach.
