This guide breaks down the best money-making methods at every stage, from your first broke Spring to a late-game gold empire.

Method 1: Fishing (Best Early-Game Income)
Before you can afford good seeds, fishing is your most reliable source of money. The fishing mini-game in Fields of Mistria is forgiving, time pauses while your line is out, and each fish sells for roughly 30 to 90 Tesserae depending on size — larger shadows are worth more.
The Eastern Road Fishing Route
The most efficient early fishing spot is the trio of ponds on the Eastern Road. Fish out the medium and large shadows, then walk to the map just north of your farm and re-enter Eastern Road. This forces the fish to respawn, letting you repeat the loop and maximise your income per in-game day. Method 2: Regrowing Crops (Best Overall Money)
Selling large harvests through the shipping bin raises both your Tesserae and your Town Rank at the same time.
Once you have a little starting capital, farming becomes the single biggest money-maker in the game — and the key is regrowing crops. Unlike single-harvest crops, these keep producing every few days after the first harvest, so you only pay for the seeds once. Plant them at the start of a season to maximise the number of harvests.

Method 3: Mining and Gold Tools (Best Late-Game Income)
Once you have unlocked and progressed through the Mines, mining becomes a powerful income stream. You can sell raw ore, gems, artifacts and monster drops — but the real money is in crafting.
The most profitable late-game grind is to gather Gold Ore, smelt it into Gold Ingots, and forge Gold tools at the Forge. Selling crafted gold tools returns a large profit per unit and is one of the fastest ways to push your Town Renown into the higher tiers. It is repetitive, but extremely lucrative once your mining and blacksmithing skills are high.
Method 4: Quests and Museum Donations
No matter how you make your money, never ignore quests and the Museum. They are among the fastest ways to build Town Renown, and they often pay Tesserae directly on top.
- Request Board & mailbox quests — many pay Tesserae, seeds, or useful tools. Check both every single morning; they rotate frequently.
- Museum donations — every new fish, crop, bug, and artifact you donate raises Renown. Donate early rather than hoarding.
- Story quests — completing Adeline's town-upgrade campaigns unlocks new facilities like breeding, which opens up further income (rare animal colour variants sell well).
The reason Renown matters so much for money: each new Renown tier grants a permanent stamina potion.
