Town Renown is the beating heart of progression in Fields of Mistria. Nearly everything you do to rebuild Mistria feeds into it, and raising your Town Rank unlocks new areas, quests, features and permanent stat boosts. This guide explains how the system works, the fastest ways to earn Renown, every Town Rank, and what each milestone unlocks. New here? Start with our Beginner's Guide.

What Is Town Renown?

Mistria is one of many towns in the Kingdom of Aldaria, and each town has a Town Rank based on its Renown Level. Higher-ranked towns get more popularity and support from the Capital. After the earthquake, Mistria dropped two entire Town Ranks — and restoring it is your central goal.

Renown is effectively a reputation meter. Every positive action that benefits the town raises it. Your Town Rank increases by one level for every 10 Renown levels you earn. At the end of each day, the summary screen shows how much Renown you gained, followed by a progress bar toward your next rank.

How to Raise Renown

Completing Requests at the Request Board raises Renown in Fields of Mistria

The Request Board near the General Store is your daily source of Renown-earning quests.

There are three core ways to increase Renown, and the best strategy is to do all three every day.

?? How to Raise Your Town Rank

1

Complete Requests

Take quests from the Request Board near the General Store and from your mailbox. Each gives Renown, often plus Tesserae or items.

2

Ship items

Sell crops, fish, ore and crafted goods via the Shipping Bin (500 Tesserae from the General Store). Every shipped item gives a small Renown boost.

3

Donate to the Museum

Donate one of each fish, bug, crop and artifact to the Museum in the Deep Woods. Donations give a larger boost than shipping.

4

Claim your rewards

Collect each level's reward from the Treasure Chest by the Request Board. Rank rises every 10 Renown levels.

Which Method Is Best?

All three matter, but they aren't equal per action:

  • Requests & Museum donations give the largest individual Renown boosts. Prioritise these.
  • Shipping gives a smaller boost per item — but because you ship in bulk, mass crop shipping can raise your rank several levels at once. This is why large regrowing-crop farms are so powerful (see our money guide).
?? Tip: Donate one of each new item to the Museum before selling duplicates — you can only donate one of each, so keep the first fish, bug, crop or artifact you find. Fishing daily is an easy way to gather lots of both shippable and donatable items. See our Museum guide.

The Fastest Way to Rank Up

To climb Town Ranks quickly, build a daily routine that touches all three sources:

  1. Check your mailbox and the Request Board first thing — grab every quest you can.
  2. Do as many gathering activities as your stamina allows (farming, fishing, mining, foraging) to produce the maximum items.
  3. Donate any brand-new item to the Museum.
  4. Ship everything else at day's end.
  5. Ship quest-reward items too — they count toward Renown just like anything else.
?? Tip: Every few ranks you earn a permanent stamina increase. More stamina means more actions per day, which means more Renown — so ranking up literally accelerates further ranking up. Managing energy well matters; see our stamina guide.

Rewards and How to Claim Them

Claiming Town Rank rewards from the Treasure Chest by the Request Board in Fields of Mistria

Rewards don't go to your inventory automatically — claim them from the Treasure Chest by the Request Board.

Each Renown level grants a reward: a bag of Tesserae, a cosmetic, or a piece of furniture. Crucially, these do not go straight to your inventory — you must claim them from the Treasure Chest (Renown Rewards Chest) next to the Request Board in the town centre. Overflow rewards now drop directly in front of the chest, so nothing is lost if the chest is full.

Beyond per-level rewards, hitting Town Rank milestones unlocks major content — the biggest being the Mines at Town Rank 10. Higher ranks open new quests (including special Crown Requests) and additional town features.

All Town Ranks

Town Rank starts at Level 0 (Wood) and progresses through tiers as your Renown climbs. As of the 2026 Early Access build, the cap is Town Rank 95 (Diamond), with a final Mistril rank planned for a future major update (alongside the last 20 Mine floors).
