Overview
Phoenix is the eighth Hero Pet unlocked at Pet House Level 8 (Town Hall 15), featuring the game-changing resurrection ability that revives knocked-out heroes for 8 seconds with full invincibility. When a paired hero is defeated, Phoenix automatically activates its revival power, bringing the hero back to life for a final 8-second push during which the hero is completely invincible to all damage sources and can activate abilities, deploy equipment powers, and continue attacking. With 2,600 HP and 160 splash DPS at max level, Phoenix continues fighting as an independent air unit dealing area damage after the hero’s second knockout.
Phoenix revolutionized war attack strategies by turning failed attacks into successful 3-stars through its resurrection mechanic—the 8-second revival window allows heroes to complete critical objectives like destroying Town Hall, eliminating final defenses, or securing percentage for the next star tier. This “second chance” mechanic is especially powerful with Barbarian King who charges aggressively and frequently dies deep inside bases; Phoenix revives him for 8 more seconds of tanking and DPS, often making the difference between 2-star and 3-star victories. After the hero dies again post-revival, Phoenix remains as a splash-damage air unit (160 DPS) that continues attacking buildings. Phoenix pairs best with Barbarian King (aggressive playstyle benefits massively from second life) and Archer Queen (extra 8 seconds to complete objectives), but has limitations with support heroes like Grand Warden who rarely die first and thus don’t benefit from resurrection timing.

Key Attributes: Phoenix has movement speed 24, attack speed 2.0 seconds, attack range 4.5 tiles, and deals splash damage. Special Ability – Resurrection: When paired hero is knocked out, Phoenix automatically revives hero for 8 seconds with full invincibility. Hero can use abilities during revival. Post-Revival: After hero dies (second time), Phoenix continues as air unit with 160 splash DPS. Attack Type: Ranged splash damage (air unit).
⚔️ Best Hero Pairings
Barbarian King (Best Pairing)
Phoenix + Barbarian King = ultimate war combo for clutch 3-stars. King’s aggressive charging playstyle means he frequently dies deep inside bases after destroying key defenses—Phoenix resurrects him for 8 extra seconds of invincible tanking and DPS. During revival, King can activate Iron Fist or Barbarian Puppet again, summoning fresh troops while invincible. Those 8 seconds often secure Town Hall destruction or final percentage needed for 3-star. Essential pairing for King-heavy war attacks at TH15-17.
Archer Queen (Strong Pairing)
Excellent pairing for Queen Charge strategies. When Queen dies after eliminating Eagle Artillery and Inferno Towers, Phoenix resurrects her for 8 seconds—enough time to destroy 2-3 more buildings or activate Royal Cloak again for additional damage/healing. The resurrection extends Queen Charge effectiveness dramatically, allowing her to reach deeper into bases than possible without Phoenix. Particularly valuable when Queen is low HP but still has critical targets remaining.
Royal Champion (Moderate Pairing)
Works but
Diggy or
Spirit Fox usually more valuable for RC. Phoenix resurrection benefits RC when she dies after eliminating defenses—8 extra seconds allows her to destroy 1-2 more defenses or reach Town Hall. However, RC’s defense-focused targeting means she benefits more from pets that keep her alive longer (Spirit Fox invisibility) or enhance defense destruction (Diggy stun) rather than resurrection after death.
Grand Warden (Poor Pairing)
Not recommended. Grand Warden is support hero who stays behind main army—he rarely dies first, making Phoenix resurrection rarely trigger. When Warden does die, it’s usually because entire army has collapsed, making 8-second resurrection insufficient to salvage attack.
Electro Owl or
Poison Lizard provide better Warden support with offensive capabilities that complement his support role.
🎯 Strategic Tips
8-Second Invincibility Window
During Phoenix resurrection, hero is COMPLETELY invincible—takes zero damage from all sources (Inferno Towers, Scattershots, Eagle Artillery, everything). Use these 8 seconds strategically: activate hero abilities (King’s Iron Fist, Queen’s Royal Cloak), target high-HP buildings (Town Hall, Eagle), or push into heavily defended compartments without fear. At max level King (2,600 HP), 8 seconds = approximately 3-4 building destructions.
Automatic Activation
Phoenix triggers automatically when hero is knocked out—no manual activation required. This means resurrection works even if hero is one-shot by Seeking Air Mine or surprise burst damage. However, plan hero pathing to ensure knockout happens near valuable targets. If King dies in corner compartment far from objectives, 8-second revival wastes time traveling rather than destroying critical buildings.
Post-Revival Phoenix Combat
After hero dies second time (post-revival), Phoenix continues as independent air unit with 160 splash DPS. Phoenix attacks nearest buildings, dealing area damage similar to Baby Dragon. This post-revival DPS often cleans up 10-15% remaining buildings, securing star thresholds. Phoenix’s 2,600 HP + air mobility allows it to survive 15-20 seconds after hero dies, adding significant cleanup value.
War MVP Timing
Phoenix is THE war pet—turning 95% 2-star attempts into 3-stars through clutch resurrections. Plan war attacks to have King/Queen reach core compartment (Town Hall, Eagle Artillery) before dying. When they die near these targets, Phoenix resurrection gives exactly enough time to destroy them. In CWL and high-level wars, Phoenix resurrection often determines war outcomes—8 seconds of invincible hero frequently = +1 star.
Ability Reactivation
Critical mechanic: heroes can reactivate abilities during Phoenix resurrection if ability cooldown has finished. If King uses Iron Fist, dies, gets resurrected, and 8+ seconds have passed since Iron Fist ended—he can activate Iron Fist AGAIN during resurrection for double ability usage in single attack. This double-ability potential makes Phoenix incredibly powerful for extending hero impact beyond normal single-life limitations.
🛡️ Countering Phoenix
Eliminate Phoenix Before Hero Dies
Target Phoenix with Air Defenses and Seeking Air Mines before the paired hero is knocked out. If Phoenix dies first (2,600 HP = vulnerable to 2 Air Defense volleys), resurrection cannot trigger when hero dies. Position Air Defenses to cover hero pathing routes—when King charges with Phoenix following, Air Defenses eliminate Phoenix in 8-10 seconds, preventing resurrection from ever activating.
High-Value Compartment Protection
Surround Town Hall and Eagle Artillery with maximum defenses (Inferno Towers, Scattershots, Monoliths) so even if hero resurrects near them, 8 seconds isn’t enough time to destroy them. A max-level Town Hall (7,200 HP) requires 10+ seconds for King to destroy—Phoenix resurrection provides only 8 seconds, leaving TH standing if hero dies adjacent to it before revival.
Spring Trap Clusters
Deploy Spring Traps near high-value targets to eliminate support troops that heroes spawn during abilities. When resurrected King activates Barbarian Puppet, Spring Traps eject spawned Barbarians immediately, reducing King’s DPS during 8-second window. Without support troops, King’s solo DPS is insufficient to destroy multiple buildings in 8 seconds.
Tornado Traps for Time Wasting
Position Tornado Traps near core compartments where heroes typically die. When hero resurrects and Tornado triggers, it pulls hero away from valuable targets, wasting 2-3 seconds of the 8-second resurrection window traveling back. Tornado near Town Hall = resurrected hero wastes half of revival time repositioning instead of attacking, often failing to destroy TH before second death.
